Privacy notice
DRAFT, to be reviewed by a lawyer. We follow the privacy practices of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Who we are
RaikaNU runs RaikaNU ("we"). For any privacy question, write to our Grievance Officer (details at the end).
What we collect
- Profile details you give us: name, gender, date of birth, religion, community, education, work, family, location and "about me".
- Photos you upload, and a selfie or social profile link if you choose to get verified.
- Mobile number and email (kept encrypted), and your password (kept only as a one-way hash).
- Birth time and place, only if you fill them in, to calculate the Kundli score.
- Your Mizaaj answers, interests, shortlists, chats and reports.
- Device and security data: IP address, browser, login times.
Why we use it
- Creating your profile and showing it to members for matchmaking (needed to use RaikaNU).
- Calculating Kundli, Mizaaj and preference matches.
- Keeping members safe: verification, fraud checks, reports, chat safety warnings.
- With your separate permission only: offers by email, WhatsApp or SMS, and offers from our wedding partners. These are never pre-selected and you can turn them off any time.
Who can see what
- Your mobile number and email are hidden from members. They are shown only when your contact setting allows it.
- Your photos follow your photo setting; others see a blurred photo.
- Birth time and place are never shown to anyone; only the score is shown.
- Selfies, social links and documents are seen only by our verification team. Every time our team views a member's phone number, it is recorded.
- We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers.
Your choices
Open Settings → Privacy Center to see and change every permission you have given, your photo, contact and profile visibility, and your cookie choices. Withdrawing a permission is as easy as giving it.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a summary of your data (Download my data in the Privacy Center),
- correct or complete your data,
- delete your account and data,
- answer a complaint (grievance),
- let a person you nominate act for you if you die or cannot act.
We reply within 30 days. You can track your request in the Privacy Center.
How long we keep data
- After you delete your account it is hidden at once; personal data is erased after 30 days (you can undo during this time).
- Verification selfies and documents are erased 30 days after review.
- Some records may be kept longer only when the law requires it (for example payment invoices or a police request). They are kept in restricted storage.
Security
Passwords are hashed, and phone numbers, chats and photos are stored encrypted. Photos never open from a public link. Team accounts use 2-step verification, and you can turn it on for your own account too. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Children
RaikaNU is only for adults. Nobody under 18 may register.
Cookies and ads
We use only the cookies needed to run the site unless you allow more. See the Cookie Policy. We do not show third-party ads today; if we start, this notice will be updated and you will be asked first.
